Prepare your college-bound student for success

For kids with dreams of college, this episode answers a lot of questions. The first being, what is important to the student? We are not just talking academics, although that is important. We are talking school size and location, surrounding areas and activities, courses of study, other interests the student may have.

We also talk about financial aid and merit aid and scholarships for sports, music and academics and how to build relationships at the schools you want to apply to, so you have the best chance of getting in.

My guest, Honoria DaSilva-Kilgore, is a personal college counselor that helps families address these questions, come up with a "universe" of potential schools and find the money to get there.
